Hello Everyone,

On Wednesday, Sept. 6, the FOSM project will be removing a rotten 12-inch diameter post and a rotten 6-inch beam. Joelle Hertel and I are working on a project to replace these components and also replace seven rotten 6-inch by 22-inch vertical posts under several horizontal beams. We will be digging a 12-inch diameter hole  through a 12-inch diameter hole in the concrete floor. We will put a 12-inch diameter post in this hole later. The hole will be approximately 12 inches deep.

We will be digging through hard putty over the heads of large lag screws that presently hold these pieces to the building. We will then use wrenches or socket sets to unscrew the large lag screws so that we may remove these components. We are fabricating new components at the FOSM Guard Station on Thursday.

Today I purchased a set of cold chisels to use with hammers to remove the hard putty over the screw heads. Bring hammers to use with the cold chisels.

Bring tools for the tasks above and wear appropriate work clothes. Bring lunch, snacks, work gloves, and drinks.

Meet at the FOSM Guard Station at 8 am.
