Hello Everyone,
On Wed., Oct. 4, the FOSM project will be constructing one fence section in Doc Long PA to prevent the driving of vehicles into the area around Shelter B. Tracks in the vegetation indicate that vehicles have
been driven into the area adjacent to this shelter. The existing fence on the left of the PA entrance does not extend to the large steel gate to the PA. One 10-foot section of fence would close this access point.
The tasks will be digging one post hole and mounting two 4-inch diameter poles with a length of 10 feet. These poles are stored at Don Carnicom’s house. I purchased four poles that are 4 inches in diameter
and 8 feet long. We would cut one pole so that we would have a post 6 feet in length. Two of the other poles could be used as rails in the fence if we decided to make the fence section 8 feet long. We would attach the two poles with ½ inch by 10 inches carriage
bolts.
Meet at the FOSM Guard Station at 8 am. Wear long pants, a long-sleeve shirt, and boots with slip-resistant soles. Bring snacks, drinks, lunch, work gloves, a hard hat, and carpentry tools.
