Hello Everyone,

On Wednesday, October 11, FOSM volunteers will finish processing the donation firewood that we started bucking earlier on the hillside above the first Cienega parking lot. (NW corner...the same area where TTYL and FOSM volunteers used wheelbarrows to cart the split rounds down to Joe Meade's truck/trailer parked where the Acequia Trail crosses Cienega PA Road)

Wednesday's project will be very similar.  It will involve rolling the splitter up the trail to where the bucked rounds will be gathered.  Most of the work will involve more bucking; rolling bucked rounds to the splitter; splitting rounds and carting the split wood in wheelbarrows down to the trailer.

We will need the 3 new large FS wheelbarrows; 4 orange cones; 1 or 2 chain sawyers; 1 cant hook; fuel and other chainsaw tools.  Hopefully, we will have 8-10 volunteers.  (Jerry Carroll should not need to come to the Guard Station.) Perhaps Jamey, if available, can haul the wheelbarrows, etc. Dan will pull the trailer with the splitter.  Lou will drive Joe's truck/trailer. Lou will alert the Hopkins woodlot owner.

Meet at 8 am at the FOSM Guard Station. Wear sturdy boots with slip-resistant soles, long pants, and a long-sleeve shirt. Bring work gloves, hard hat, eye and ear protection, lunch, snacks, drinks, and maybe a jacket for cool morning temperatures.
