Hello Everyone,
On Wednesday, October 25, FOSM volunteers will process donation firewood at the Kiwanis Cabin Road gate at the Crest and at Ellis Trailhead.
Wednesday's project will be similar to the project on Wednesday, Oct. 18. We will park in the Crest large parking lot and buck logs already on the ground at the Kiwanis Cabin Road gate. After splitting the
rounds, we will load them on Joe Meade’s trailer.
After completing the processing of the logs at the above location, we will move to Ellis Trailhead and process logs near Switchback Trail behind the large red gate on the Service Road.
We will need 4 orange cones; 1 or 2 chain sawyers; 1 cant hook; fuel and other chainsaw tools. Hopefully, we will have 8-10 volunteers. (Jerry Carroll should not need to come to the Guard Station.) Dan will
pull the trailer with the splitter. Lou will drive Joe's truck/trailer. Lou will alert the Hopkins woodlot owner.
Meet at 8:30 am at the FOSM Guard Station. Wear sturdy boots with slip-resistant soles, long pants, and a long-sleeve shirt. Bring work gloves, hard hat, eye and
ear protection, lunch, snacks, drinks, and maybe a jacket for cool morning temperatures.
Note the later meeting time of 8:30 am.
