Everyone,
Just making sure there’s no confusion – I plan to bring a few of my SRD Trails chainsaws on Thursday that will be available for your use. We won’t necessarily need a saw for each individual, so it won’t be a problem to pass a couple saws
around among everyone.
However, you are welcome to pick up from the guard station and bring any FOSM chainsaws if you have a favorite that you would prefer to use.
Either way, we will be covered in regard to saws. Please make sure to bring PPE for yourself.

Subject: FOSM Chainsaw Re-certification
Morning FOSM sawyers,
One more reminder that Will Shoutis, the detailed Region 3 Saw Coordinator, will be hosting a field day to re-certify those of you whose chainsaw certifications are expiring this year. We’re meeting at
9 am at the Ellis Trailhead, and will be working on the ski area.
According to the FOSM certifications tracking list attached (Mike, please correct me if this is not the most recent version), there are six of you whose chainsaw certs expire this year: Michael Arndt, Byron Garner, Mike Madden, Steve Roholt,
Scott Dietrich, and Mark Grazier. I accidentally said somewhere along the line that there were only five – thanks for catching that, Steve. I recall seeing emails from Byron, Steve, and Scott saying they’ll be attending – if any of the rest of you tried to
let me know, I apologize as your messages probably got lost in the sauce (I get a lot of emails!)
FOSM folks, make sure to come prepared with saws, fuel, bar & chain oil, wedges, pounders, string & weight for plumb lines (if you’ll be re-certifying as or interested in testing for a B felling certification), all applicable PPE, and water/lunch
for the day. Looks like Thursday should be a nice, cool day to be cutting up top.
Thanks, everyone – see you on Thursday.
