Hello Everyone:

Yesterday, July 1, 2024, The FOSM Trails Maintenance Crew hiked Crest Trail 130 North, a short section of 10K, Survey Trail and a short section of Lower Switchback to remove three previously reported fallen trees and to do other maintenance as needed. By day's end, the crew had removed eight fallen trees ranging in size from three to fifteen inches in diameter and rerouted a short section of Crest Trail 130 around a "train wreck" consisting of five fallen trees. Crosscut saws and other hand tools were used for this work. Some minor tread work and brush trimming was done as needed. The day was sunny and mostly cool with a moderate wind that seemed to come and go on a random basis. The forest is incredibly green and the flowers grow in profusion. There was not a dusty section on any of the trails we hiked.

Monday's crew consisted of Byron Garner, Jeff Kokos, Susan Gregory, Rav Nicholson, Rene Archer, Jamey Browning, Cleve Sharp, John Cooper, Phil Cromer and Bob Lowder.
