Hello Everyone,

On Wed., July 17, FOSM volunteers will modify two 10-foot by 20-foot rain collectors in the Bernalillo County Ojito Open Space so that the water will run off of them into a gutter and then into a water tank. Approximately half of the screws securing five corrugated metal roofing panels on each collector will be removed, and one end of the panels will be raised 3 inches. Wooden strips with various thicknesses will be inserted under the panels, and the panels will be secured again with screws.

Meet at 8 am at the FOSM Guard Station. Wear a long sleeve shirt and long pants. Bring a hard hat, snacks, work gloves, drinks, lunch, and boots with slip-resistant soles. Also, bring tools useful for roofing installation, such as battery-powered drills.

Joelle Hertel and Dan Benton will be leading this project.
