Hi everyone,

Wow, that slide pack is fantastic. What a good way to document the project. I have been the beneficiary of all your hard work along the Ellis, which has always been one of my favorite trails in the Sandias. The way it ducks in and out of the forest more will make the hike back up to the parking lot shadier on a hot day, plus you have smoothed out some of the ups and downs. We have ended up hiking the Ellis this year more than usual. We tend to go all the way out to the junction with the Crest, and beyond, so by the time we’re coming back up the Ellis, having more shade and smoother trail is appreciated. We have run into quite a few other hikers who have also complimented the modifications. It has been the inspiration for some of my paintings this year, because the flowers during the good monsoons in Jun-Jul were so great.

Thanks again for all the hard work!

Stan Davis

Hello!

I thought I would pass this along to anyone who is interested. Luis Cuadros has had some time to account for all our work on Ellis Trail while he heals from a bike accident and, also, just because he is sort of a nerd this way. See attached documents. Enjoy!
