Hello Volunteers,

Joelle Hertel and I have planned the following tasks to improve the storage of equipment in the Guard Station and the new container on Wednesday morning:

In the existing Guard Station:

1.  Notch 2x4's on the north wall at height of the steel table at the west end of the Guard Station. Notches allow the table to be installed a couple of inches farther N to make the aisle a little wider.
2.  Move the table into place; attach lumber to table legs, and anchor to the floor and to the north wall.
3.  Move the blue bins of screws, bolts, nuts, and washers from the south wall to the newly installed table. This task will expose more pegboard on which to store tools.
4.  Move generator boxes and rolls of roof material from Guard Station to the new storage unit.
5.  Move the tall jack to the north wall of the Guard Station and secure it to a 2x4.

In the new storage unit:

1.  Assemble the 4-tiered steel shelf unit.  Place on the floor against the north wall adjacent to the tool rack.
2. Move boxes and hard hats from the GS center workbench to the new shelves in the container.
3.  Build a shelf for trail crew hardhats using 2x6 lumber and 90-deg angle brackets.

Meet at 8 am at the Guard Station. Wear warm clothes and bring snacks and drinks.

We will only work until about noon, because in the afternoon some volunteers will be helping a group of Menaul School sophomores explore the west side of the mountain.
