Hello, FOSM Members and Friends--

A friendly reminder to mark your calendars for our General Membership Meeting next Tuesday, June 2^nd at 6PM in the conference room (access via the north side) at the Sandia Ranger District office located at 11776 Hwy 337, Tijeras, NM 87059.   Dr. Les McFadden,  professor emeritus in the UNM Earth & Planetary Sciences Department, will share a fascinating overview of the geologic history of the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande Rift.  Grab your seat early as doors will be open by 5:30PM.  

Les McFadden received an MS & PhD in Geosciences from the University of Arizona and a BA in anthropology from Stanford. He served as chair of the E&PS Department, and has received the Kirk Bryan Award from the Geological Society of America and the 2024 Earth Science Achievement Award from the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources.
