> The Special Session starts Tuesday, November 24th, 2020 and is intended to be completed in one day. We will be considering several proposals for relief at this special session, which you will find below. Items 1 through 5 would utilize Federal CARES funding, prior to December 31, 2020. Items 6 & 7 would be funded through 2021 from our General Fund.

> 1) State Unemployment Supplement - $194 million to the NM Workforce Solutions Department. A one-time supplement of $1,200 to each unemployment claimant (state and federal) eligible for benefits during the 7 days following the bill’s effective date (upon signature), and to those who have exhausted all UI benefits between 9/12/2020 and the bill’s effective date.

> 2) Small Business Support - $100 million to the NM Dept of Finance and Administration to provide grants up to $50 thousand to New Mexico businesses with at least one but not more than 100 employees. Priority to hospitality and leisure businesses, and businesses and nonprofits that have suffered severe economic impact.

> 3) NM Human Services Department – $5 million to provide assistance, up to $750 per low-income household, pursuant to state’s existing general assistance program.

> 4) NM Dept of Finance and Administration - $15 million – to provide emergency housing assistance for rent or mortgage payment, and assistance for the homeless.

> 5) NM Human Services Dept – $5 million – for emergency food bank services.
>
> 6) NM Dept of Health - $10 million to provide Coronavirus Testing, Contact Tracing, and Vaccine Implementation.

> 7) NM Administrative Office of the Courts - $200 thousand to cover expenses related to the public health order enforcement.
