HB171 grad requirements passed SEC this morning. HEC will vote on SJR9
state school board at 8 on Wednesday. We heard public testimony on 9 today,
but because the meetings were held at the same time, key legislators were
unable to attend.
This year’s affirmative consent bill focusing on higher education policy
HB151 passed on the House floor early Sunday morning around 2:45. The House
was in session for 15 hours 46 minutes. Rep. Thompson was terrific
answering endless irrelevant questions
and attempts to amend calmly but clearly. This bill has disappeared from
the tracking sheet and should be added even though it may not make it
through the wickets.
SB3 PFML has not yet been scheduled in House Commerce, its last committee.
We need to send a message to the House members who are stalling the agendas
by debating 3 hours on every bill in every committee and then again on the
floor that they were elected to represent the people and not just their
narrow constituency. It’s shameful behavior.
