[LWVNM Action] Request for consideration: SB166

One line of the bill includes "improving health and human services outcomes for people who experience homelessness" which definitely falls under our healthcare position. But the rest of the bill isn't healthcare related. Can we advocate for a bill because we have a position covering only a small part of it? (I think the answer is no but I don't know for sure.)

Do we have a position on homelessness? I don't find "homeless" anywhere in https://www.lwvnm.org/positions.html
but one of our other positions might cover it. Or is there a LWVUS position?

If not, maybe we should have a position on homelessness. Maybe another state has a position with which we could concur.

We do need a position in order to advocate on a bill.
