[LWVNM Action] Action meeting to set priorities, TOMORROW Jan 2 6pm

Happy new year, everybody!

Tomorrow night at 6pm is our meeting to choose priorities for this year's legislative session.

There hasn't been much discussion here on the action list, and I'd like to keep the meeting to an hour. So think about which priorities you want to advocate for, and why.

At our last meeting, the candidates were:
Affordable Housing
Health Care
Immigration
Environment (including water)
Education

Ideally, we'd choose three, but from what Dick was saying it sounded like we could choose four if we really wanted to. And remember, we can still advocate for areas that aren't in the top three or four! And they'll still show up in our tracking sheet. The top priorities are mostly so that we can fit them on a 1-page printed sheet to give to legislators.

Personally, I'd like to see Health Care and Environment make the top list, because we expect important bills to be proposed in both of these areas, and neither one has made the top three in recent years. But of course, all five topics are important and we expect legislation in all of the areas. And all five topics are under threat from the upcoming federal regime change.
