The program Bubbles and Waves! was a very entertaining success.  Thanks to Larry for the presentation on the Rogue River and the Red Sea, and to those who attended and participated. For those of you who missed it... well you missed it.

The next club event is the Rio Grande River Festival on May 9th. Our president, Sara has contacted us all about this fun-filled festival.  Hope to see you there.

Then, on June 14th Andre Potochnik has agreed to speak to us at REI in Albuquerque. Andre is a fine speaker with a tremendous depth of knowledge and entertaining style. Although he does have a Ph.D., he is very down to earth in his delivery, open-minded and interesting to listen to. Andre has been a popular speaker at the Grand Canyon Association's Flagstaff and Prescott lecture series. Andre is an avid river runner and educator; and he is well respected among the river community not only due to his expansive knowledge of the Grand Canyon and its geology, but also because he is very much at home with oars in his hands.
Andre’s presentation will include general river running experiences, canyon geology and he will also touch on his role as part of the Glen Canyon Dam adaptive management team. 
The Grand Canyon Association will be our lecture sponsor and the Executive Director of that non-profit will be attending as well, and will speak briefly about the organization and their very important mission.
