[Awclist] Quest for Fire

The New Mexico Adventure Racing Club (www.nmarc.org) is looking for five kayaking volunteers to patrol the water during the "Quest for Fire" adventure race.  The race is the first ever in the state of New Mexico and will be held on May 21 in Angel Fire, New Mexico.  Volunteers would be asked to spread along the course and supply a vessel for a racer to hang on to if they were to fall into the water.  A paramedics and a doctor will be on-site the entire event and a jet-ski will be used in emergencies.  Life saving duties are not expected of volunteers.  Water volunteers would begin their patrol around 7:00 AM until about 9:00 AM and then again around noon.  The actual distance paddled will be short (less than a mile) and occurs twice during the event.
