This is a reminder of our upcoming meeting next Tuesday (see below). It looks like all three of our intrepid Gila runners will be there, and so should you be to gain from their insights, pepper them with questions, and generally have a good time. See you there!

OVERDUE IN JANUARY ON THE FLOODED GILA RIVER 

On December 31, 2004, the Gila River rose from 100 cfs to 1000 cfs. After 
driving to the put-in on January 1, three experienced boaters started the 
Wilderness section run on January 2. The river rose to almost 10,000 cfs on 
January 4, the day they were due out. When they were a day overdue, one of their spouses called Search and Rescue. This is their story. Richard Stoops and Norm Gaume, two of the three adventures, will speak of their adventures, what went right, what went wrong, and, in short, the trip from their perspective at the July Adobe Whitewater meeting to be held at 7:00 P.M. on July 12th, 2005 at REI (1550 Mercantile NE; I25 and Montano in Albuquerque NM) . All are welcome (Adobe Whitewater members and non-members alike).
