Members:

I am sure that you, as I, are eagerly awaiting our next meeting. This meeting, on June 14th at 7:00 P.M. features Andre Potochnik at REI in Albuquerque. Andre is an avid river runner and educator; and he is well respected among the river community not only due to his expansive knowledge of the Grand Canyon and its geology, but also because he is very much at home with oars in his hands.
Andre’s presentation will include general river running experiences, canyon geology and he will also touch on his role as part of the Glen Canyon Dam adaptive management team.

The Grand Canyon Association will be our lecture sponsor and the Executive Director of that non-profit will be attending as well, and will speak briefly about the organization and their very important mission.

Please join us, and tell your friends (Adobe member and non-member alike) about this exciting event.

Then, in July, we will be having a program from a couple of our members on running the Gila River, and their adventures doing this.

In August we will have two events. One of these will be a meeting in Santa Fe on paddling in Asia (wow!). The second will be our annual picnic.

In September our regular meeting will probably be replaced by a four hour "class" where attending members will have the opportunity to get certified in CPR and blood borne pathogens. This is currently being firmed up both as to place and time. While attendence will either be free or available for a nominal fee, preregistration will be required as spaces will be limited.

Finally, I am attempting to get another high quality guest lecture for our October meeting. More on this later.

Anyway, I haope you all come and hear Andre speak. I hope to see you there. Please feel free to let me know your feedback on both this program, and our upcoming club events!

Howard
