I don't think this project should make much of a change for our races. The point is to stabilize the rock to prevent another fatality from a rock fall. Myself, I wouldn't want to park under the loose rock as it is now. However, I know Eric and the firm that prepared the EA for NMDOT. I'll talk to him about our concern that we need adequate area for parking during our races.
It might also be worthwhile going to Santa Fe and meeting with NMDOT staff. I am a little uncomfortable with the "don't ask, don't tell" approach with this. Eventually (as with the ditch) such an approach is bound to present difficulties.
