On June 24-25 and July 15-16 AWC is holding swift water rescue classes.
The price of these classes are almost half of what regional schools
charge and you are a ACA certified technician at the end of the class.

Why do you need these classes?

On a recent Yampa trip one of the rafts flipped in Warm Springs -
luckily we had two rescue certified people there to supervise the
incident and several others who had training so the raft was reflipped
without problems. Another raft got stuck on a rock and was helped off
using Z-drags.

We had a local boater shocked last year when she realized she was
boating with kayakers who didn't even own throw-ropes, let alone know
how to use one.

Recent kayak tragedies in Colorado show even if you have the training,
it may not be enough - but without the training......

Boating responsibly is everyone's job - one of the best tools for this
is to know how to help when its needed.
