Dear AWC member:

We need your vote on an immediate issue for which we have proposed two
possible solutions. Please read below and reply with your vote as quickly as
possible. I will tally the results and submit them to the AWC Board of
Directors.

THE PROBLEM :

During the short Thanksgiving week, the City of Albuquerque notified the AWC
of the following changes to its rules for renting the Los Altos for our
weekly roll sessions:

1) The rental fee will increase from $40 dollars per night to $64 per
night ... a 60% increase.

2) The AWC will also have to enter into a contractual agreement with
the City, the terms of which are currently unknown (the notification of the
changes was given telephonically without any form of written record).

3) If the AWC does not agree to these changes, Wednesday night, Dec 1,
2010, will be our last night for pool sessions.

THE IMPACT :

If we maintain the current level of pool availability (weekly, except for
holidays) and the same level of pool attendance, the AWC will lose somewhere
between $900 and $1200 per year on the weekly pool sessions... manageable in
the short term, unsustainable over the long run.

THE ALTERNATIVES:

REMEDIAL ACTIONS WHO'S OUTCOME IS WITHIN THE CONTROL OF AWC

1) Discontinue Albuquerque pool roll sessions permanently ..or

2) Manage our pool usage more effectively..and, or

3) Increase usage fees..and, or

4) Subsidize pool fees by using other sources of club revenue.and or

5) Some combination of b, c and d.

REMEDIAL ACTIONS WHO'S OUTCOME IS OUTSIDE THE CONTROL OF AWC

1) Press for greater efficiencies on the part of the city of
Albuquerque and ask them to reduce their fees accordingly

2) Press the city for some roll back of these new usage fees

3) Find another non-city pool that will rent to the AWC at a cost
similar to what we have been paying city of Albuquerque ($40 for 2 hours)

TWO OPTIONS WITHIN THE CONTROL OF AWC

1) 12 month option

a. POOL AVAILABILITY

                                                               i. Same
as we have today

b. PER SESSION COST

                                                               i. $8
per night.

2) 9 month option

a. POOL AVAILABILITY

                                                               i.
January through September (historically, October through December are much
lower use months)

b. PER SESSION COST

                                                               i. $7
per night

NOTE: Because AWC must now sign a contract with the City of Albuquerque, and
because the above pricing is based upon historical usage data which may or
may not be representative of future usage, the risk exists that at years'
end there may be a shortfall between the fees collected and the actual cost
of the pool which will have to be covered by the club. To make sure this
risk is borne fairly by all pool users, both options identified above will
require that all pool users are members of the AWC.

DECISION

We need you to send a reply indicating your preferred option (12 month
option or 9 month option) as outlined above. Since we will probably not be
allowed to continue use of the pool beyond December 1st without a decision
and a contract, we need your response very quickly.
