Good question. Will it get higher? Or, is this it? My buddy from Boulder cancelled his trip to Taos 'cause he says he doesn't want to raft the box below 2000. Howard n I ran the racecourse today at 1140 cfs and it was fun. He in his IK n me in my 14' oar rig. A friend called last night n said the Animas town run is rockin at 3600! I did it May 2nd at 1000. Probably headed to Durango this weekend if Box doesn't come up. :)

Hi, Speaking of river levels, does anybody have any insight as to why the Rio Grande has been so low this year (so far)? Lots of ag diversion up stream near Alamosa?
Thanks,
Mark (Santa Fe)

Planning on rafting the racecourse @ Pilar on Sunday. Just gonna drive up from ABQ & then drive back. No exact time yet. Only about a 90 minute run.

It is flowing at 1150 cfs.

You are invited to bring your boat & come along. Raft, kayak, canoe, inner tube, whatever………..

Rio Chama Monastery to Big Eddy at apprx 400 right now. Don’t know if they will do a release this afternoon or not. Rafts need at least 800.

	hey Tim,

A friend and i ran the upper Chama a few weeks ago on a monday, it was about 2500 cfs. we saw fences but none spanning the river, and none we had to get out of our boats to negotiate. There are a couple cables spanning the river, you should have plenty of room to get under these, too. Big Mama Chama unobstructed by snags, but plenty on top of the big rock.
are you going to run on sunday, too? i work friday until 8pm.

At the takeout, north el vado launch ramp, which we had not gone to before our run, The gate was locked about a quarter mile from the ramp, so we had to hump our gear past the gate. I called el vado state park and asked about opening the gate, and he said it should be open soon. i advise you call them to check this before the weekend.

	see ya on the river,
