Celia Southwick and Betsy Butler’s Thailand “Adventure”


We will have some whitewater footage from 3 different rivers in Thailand
along with the river tales!

Celia Southwick and Betsy Butler’s Thailand “Adventure” Started out with
“just a visit to see Eric (Celia’s son)  and Tik, his fiancée ”.  Purchasing
an airline ticket, packing, passports, and immunizations started out the
adventure, followed by a 23 hour flight, customs, etc… Upon arrival they had
a welcome dinner and the first of 3 river trips 2 days after arriving – jet
lag not allowed! Turns out they not only had a busy September planned
demo-ing rafts, paddles, helmets and more but added a few things to make our
visit there extraordinary. We went to small villages that did commercial
raft trips near the Laos border. We rode zip lines in the jungle canopy at
the Flight of the Gibbons where Eric was doing a photo shoot for the
company.  We petted tigers while IN their cages, rode elephants, did 4wd
driving on muddy roads to the rivers running high! We toured many temples,
celebrated a birthday, stayed in some extraordinary places at very small
prices, visited the beach and did snorkeling, took a boat trip out to a sea
turtle sanctuary, rode the sky train, the canal boats, motorcycle taxi’s,
shopped, walked and got a real taste of Thailand’s culture, people and
history.
