Good afternoon everyone.
I hope you are all having a good week. I wanted to let you know what's going on with flows on the Rio Chama and what can be expected for the upcoming holiday weekend.
As many of you may have noticed, flows have already bumped up to about 610 cfs. This is due to increased demand from the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District for delivery of some of its water. So, unless we receive significant rain in the Middle Rio Grande Valley in the next day or two (the forecast isn't showing any), it will likely stay up there. If for some reason the district decides to cut the release, we will still bring it back up to 600 cfs on Friday morning and it will stay there through Monday morning as planned for the holiday weekend. There is a possibility, if the drought continues, that the flow will remain that high even after the holiday weekend. Again, that is all dependent on whether we get any rain.
I wish you all a happy and safe holiday weekend!!
