Dear Boaters, [Mary- please send to AWC]

Cochiti Lake rangers reported this morning that the first debris flow of
the season has piled up behind the Cochiti Lake log boom. There is
about 2 acres of mostly small to moderate sized debris containing some
larger tree stumps, logs, tires, etc. There was also an unknown, but
fairly significant amount of debris visible upstream in the river.
Photos and a video have been posted to the Cochiti lake Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/USACE.Cochiti.Lake
(you do not need a Facebook account to see the photos).

As of noon today the debris mat had been blown upstream. Although no
longer piled up at the log boom, the debris poses a hazard to boats in
the upper part of Cochiti Lake. We expect the debris field to move
around and its location at any given time is unpredictable. Please use
due caution on the river.
