I took this course from Uncle (Steve Harris) and recommend it - especially with Harvey King instructing; Harvey is excellent. I may take it again even though my S-2 certification doesn't expire until 9/14. Like First Aid and CPR, the more practice the better. We had one raft flip on my Grand trip this past November. No one was hurt and I got to play with my ropes, webbing, pulleys, brakes, & ascenders. It was fun and I know how to do it.

This course is a lot more expensive than Marcel's but it's at least another option for you. You will want a dry suit if you have one. We did our in-water exercises at Souse Hole and rigging and throw bag work at the Visitor's Center and in the parking area above Souse.
