[Awclist] AWC Tuesday, October 8 meeting features Steve Harris ondevelopments on the Gila and Chama Rivers

Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 6:30 pm our regular meeting will feature Steve
Harris

Presenter:  Steve Harris,  founder of rafting company Far Flung Adventures
(www.farflung.com/ ) and 

Director of the Rio Grande Restoration (www.riogranderestoration.org/index
)which is the advocacy group for river protection.

    

 Topic:  He will talk about river development of the Gila and Chama Rivers.


The Gila is facing a new diversion project which will reduce the already
rare opportunities for wilderness boating in New Mexico.  

The Chama is subject of an innovative project to use dam releases to improve
river ecology.

 

We meet at the New Town House Restaurant on Central just east of Wyoming
Blvd at 6:30 pm

As usual come early if you want to order dinner or drinks.

You do not have to be a member AWC - bring a friend and enjoy the
presentation.
