[Awclist] Paddling Clothes Donation to Kayak New Mexico

Hi fellow Adobe Whitewater Club members,

I'm a new member of the club and met some of you at the Christmas party and Emerald Mile Presentation.  I'm also on the Board of Directors for Kayak New Mexico, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.  Some of you may have heard about Kayak New Mexico at the Christmas party.  

With the new paddling season upon us, I'm collecting old paddling clothes that would otherwise be thrown away or donated to Goodwill.  I plan on having a container with various sizes of jackets, fleece, vests, tops, and bottoms to be lent out to veterans and/or disabled children when we take them kayaking on lakes and rivers.   At the end of each event, I'll collect the items, wash them, and store them for the next excursion.

If you have any old paddling clothes that you are thinking of throwing away, please consider donating them to Kayak New Mexico.  I know of one person who said that her shirts have stains on them from sunscreen --- we don't mind!  They'll be great for someone who has nothing.  I'll be glad to give you a receipt for your donation; all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. 

I missed last month's meeting due to work, but will be at the March 11, 2014 meeting to hear Marcel and Dave talk about their bodacious trip down the Grand Canyon if you wish to donate any items.
