Starting Monday, a large block of water will begin moving from Abiquiu
Reservoir on the Rio Chama, downstream through Cochiti Dam and down to
Elephant Butte Reservoir. White Rock Canyon will see a week long peak of
approximately 2,000 cubic feet per second from late Wednesday, May 7 through
at least Sunday May 11. This release is part of the Army Corp's efforts to
promote silvery minnow recruitment in the Albuquerque reach of the Rio
Grande.
