Hi All,

On Wednesday night, October 22, a benefit to help save the Gila from the proposed diversion project was held at the Center For Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe.
This included talks by Steve Harris, Norm Gaum, and the showing of the movie Damnation and we were treated to a short movie about the state of the Santa Fe River, produced by A River Runs Through Us.

IT WAS A FULL HOUSE!

Thanks to all who attended, Bobbe Besold, co-organizer from A River Runs Through Us (http://riversrunthroughus.net/), Norm Gaum, Steve Harris, Chad Morris for the supplying the beverages and Whole Foods for the snacks, and to everyone else who helped make it happen.

The proceeds from the event are being given to Norm to support his lawsuit against the Interstate Stream Commission.

This bodes well for people being aware of what is at stake.  However, the Gila Diversion is still on the table.

The Next Steps

Write to your state representative. Deborah DeMack sent out an example letter to send.  It is attached to this email
Write the the Governor File attached
Attend the next ISC meeting to make your presence known:  October 27, Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Government Center  Vincent E. Griego Chambers, One Civic Plaza, Albuquerque, New Mexico.  The Gila River portion of the agenda starts at 10:25 am.
Donate:  
Norm is setting up a non-profit to fund his lawsuit against the ISC.  Details will be forthcoming.
