Please check out the latest Zia Rides Newsletter below. I have included the
dates for the 2016 season. Please add them to your calendar and come out
and join us! I have some new developments planned for the 2016. The dates
are pretty much the same as previous years for 2016. Let me know if you

As I take the keys to the kingdom that is Zia Rides, I have to take a
minute to thank Ms. Lindsay Mapes. Thanks for showing me the ropes over the
past 10 months. Thanks for finding me worthy of taking on Zia Rides. And,
more importantly, thanks for getting me back into mountain bike racing a
few years back. Zia Rides showed me that racing can be a blast with laid
back, fun, competitive-as-you-want-them-to-be-events on really great
courses. I hope I can fill your shoes while building on your legacy. Good

*Going Legit in 2016*

After an "unofficial" year in 2015, the Tommyknocker is going fully legit
in 2016. With that, we are bringing you more singletrack, a better staging
area, and more free pizza. As the series opener, this race is a great one
to rack up Zia Rides Series points with fewer participants and only 10
hours of riding instead of 12.

*New Course and Venue*

After 5 years at Ft. Stanton, we are moving the venue to the Village of
Ruidoso and the Grindstone Lake Trail System. The move is awesome for many
reasons: spectacular purpose-built MTB flow trails, Ruidoso restaurants,
hotels, and services at our finger tips, and a great staging/camping area
that will be out of the dust and wind. Come see why everyone raves about
the Grindstone Lake trail system!

*High desert goodness*

This course is awesome, and the folks in Gallup are working on a great new
staging area for 2016. We are also going to create a 6 hour option for this
event for those that want to ride but maybe want to party just a little
more. D2D is going to be back and better than ever!

*Bucket-list worthy*

This race is the big kahuna of the Zia Rides series. And, it well worth the
trip every year. Seriously, put it on the calendar and come ride epic
singletrack in ponderosas and aspens of the Zuni mountains. It is also
without question the best camping/staging area of any race I have ever

*Coming back in '16*

We sold out in the first year of this event! And, we will again in 2016
only faster. So, put the registration date on your calendar. This is a
legit mountain bike course with a great staging area in the tall pines
above Albuquerque. What more do you need?
