Many of you are not old enough to remember the old state championship course adjacent to Laguna pueblo. Cliff,et al,found this course and, in my opinion it was superb. 12 mile circuit with a challenging climb but not really a climbers race. Plenty of rollers for aggressive attacks. I think our racing on this course goes back maybe 12-15 years.
Anyway, Jon Spar and I thought we would reminisce a bit by doing a couple laps before attending feast day at the Pueblo.
Rode from the pueblo, 28 degrees I might add, and started the climb. Not too challenging but just enough.
Well the point of this story is to remind everyone how beautiful this course is but more importantly the fact that the entire road surface after the climb extending for maybe 5 miles has been allowed to degrade into rubble, still rideable however.
I asked the pueblo residents about this and they said that few people use that high road any longer as the traffic has been diverted to the lower road where we had the start-finish line.
Well that’s your update!
