[NMCycling] Bike path underpass warning

FYI. 

This afternoon I was headed east on the bikepath between Los Altos golf course and I-40. The underpass under Eubank was filled, end to end, with people camped out. There was maybe a 5 foot path next to the wall to get through. As I approached someone yelled out ‘biker’ and it was repeated along the tunnel ahead of me. They made way for me. 

I went through with no hassle. 

It seemed there were at least 30 people in there. Tents and large boxes lined the south wall. People spilled out both ends. Curiously, after I passed, they yelled out ‘Game on’, which also was repeated behind me. Not sure what the heck that meant, although I have a couple guesses.

I did call 242-COPS and let them know.

If that’s your route, just be aware.
