The Tome Gravel Race is coming up 4/18. It will be about 45mi, 3X15mi laps. (You can also do just 2 laps if you want.)

First lap will be tempo paced in a socially distanced group, so that everyone previews the course. It is a bit complex and I think this is the best way to see to it that hopefully no one makes any wrong turns. Course will be marked too. Then the folks that want to go fast can duke it out for the next 30mi. Mostly flat with one climb to the finish. It is a really a beautiful little loop, probably one of the most scenic gravel courses anywhere. Miles of treelined ditchroads. About 1/4 of the course will be tarmac. Road surface (even the dirt) is pretty firm and smooth. I am planning on running 32mm tubular tires. You could ride it on a road bike with 25mm tires, but it would not be ideal.

This is a mellow gravel race. It would be a good race for beginner riders, if you just want to try out a gravel race.

There is no entry fee but a $20 donation to offset my time marking and making the websites would help out bunches.

Also I am tentatively planning a gravel event doing the Torreon–Fourth of July-Tajique loop on 7/11/21.
