Looking for someplace to show off your end of season fitness?  Look no
further.  If you didn't know, the Gila Monster Gran Fondo is a fund-raising
event for the Tour of the Gila stage rac, which only boosts the reasons you
should do this event.

The *Gila Monster Gran Fondo* is designed to be fun for all riders, from
recreational cyclists to competitive racers. Plan to enjoy your weekend
while you become *Gila Proven*.

Start time for the Gran and Medio Fondos is 9:00 am at Gila Hike & Bike,
103 E. College Ave. in Silver City. The first mile, to NM 15, is a neutral
zone. Nano Fondo begins at 10:00 am 7 miles north of Silver City at the
Buckhorn Saloon, 32 Main St., Pinos Altos.

Rest stops include drinking water, energy drinks and foods, and portable
toilets, as well as extra tubes and inflation. A sag wagon will follow each
ride with water, tubes and inflation.

After-Ride Party and Award Ceremony from 4-6pm at the Buckhorn Saloon &
Opera House. Mimbres Trophy Bowls will be awarded to the top three male and
female finishers in each of the three rides, as well as to the oldest and
youngest male and female finishers.

Packet pick-up will be on Friday, October 6, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at
Gila Hike & Bike, 103 E. College Ave. Late packet pick-up and late
registration will be available at Gila Hike & Bike at 8:00 am on October 7.

Entry fee is $100 per person until September 16, and $110 thereafter.

*Gran Fondo *p/b Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate – Silver City*:**80
miles with *9,336* feet of climbing*

This ride goes out to the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument Visitor
Center and then returns on NM 15 to Piños Altos, finishing at the historic
Buckhorn Saloon & Opera House. Seven rest stops. Starts at 9 am at Gila
Hike and Bike, 103 E. College Ave. in Silver City.
*Medio Fondo *p/b Hidalgo Medical Services*:**Medio Fondo: 60 miles with *
6,810* feet of climbing*

This ride goes out to the Clinton P. Anderson Overlook (mile marker 32 on
NM 15) and returns on NM 15 to Piños Altos, ending at the historic Buckhorn
Saloon & Opera House. Five rest stops. . Starts at 9 am at Gila Hike and
Bike, 103 E. College Ave. in Silver City.
*Nano Fondo *p/b Southwest Bone and Joint Institute*:**The Nano Fondo: 30
miles with *2,747* feet of climbing*

The ride goes out to the rest stop at Wild Horse Mesa and returns on NM 15
to the start line. One rest stop. Starts at 10:00 am in Piños Altos, in
front of the historic Buckhorn Saloon & Opera House.
