[NMCycling] Last Wednesday night crest climb of 2026

Climbers,

This Week is the last Wednesday Night Crest Climb of 2026. The road is closed at 10k but it’s still a wonderful fall ride. The views from the 10k trailhead or the Balsam Glade overlook are almost as nice as from the top. So come out and ride while there are ate a couple of other people out. We will go to Trailrider pizza afterwards.

It’s very dark now so I’m planning to start at 5PM this week. It will be cold and dark so dress appropriately and bring lights. It’s a full-ish moon tomorrow but it gets crazy dark very quickly. We start back up again next spring after the time change. 

Next week we will move over to the foothills and start doing a Wednesday night mountain bike ride. That nominally starts from Boxing Bear at 5:30. For up to date info join the discord server (link below)  and go to the Wednesday night ride thread. The discord server is open for anyone to post in and can be used to share information about upcoming races or plan rides. It’s like the bike racer email list except I can actually ban spammers.

Sunny, with a high near 64. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon.

Active discussions about the ride are now over on discord.You download the app on mobile or use the web interface on a computer, create an account, and join the NM_racers server. Then you figure out how to mute notifications for everything except the channels you care about so you don’t get a banner every time someone posts something stupid. It really is the future 10 years ago!
