The Shimano Cyclocross Series - 6 events from September through November!

Dear CYCLO-X Athlete,

It's been raining, the weather has cooled, and the #crossiscoming posts are becoming more visible!  Cyclocross isn't just coming, it's here in just over 4 weeks!  This season the CYCLO-X Series has some really exciting changes.  To start, the series name has officially been changed to the Shimano Cyclocross Series, expanding on a great 5 year partnership.  We have a new championship venue this season (more details below), a return of the sandy Boulder Res, and lots of  already approved tweaks to your favorite venues like Interlocken and Sienna Lake.  All the features like colored bibs, live chip timing, and the free entry program are back!  This season all 5-pack series registrants will receive a Shimano cyclocross series campfire coffee mug - series 5 packs this season are limited to just 100 entries, get them while they're hot!

(Limited to just 100 athletes)
Tier 1 pricing: $145 ($30 savings) - closed on 4/7
Tier 2 pricing: 155 ($20 savings) - closed on 6/30
Tier 3 pricing: $165 ($10 savings) - OPEN until 9/7 at 11:59pm

2017 SHIMANO  CYCLOCROSS SERIES RACE INFO

New website:  The series launched a brand new mobile friendly website this morning!  Check it out on your phones or your tablets - registration is now open for all events!

Colored Bibs: Each race wave that features multiple categories on course at the same time will receive a colored bib.  For example: If you're a Master Man 50+ starting at 9:40am you'll get a blue bib #, while a Masters Man 60+ starting 1 minute after you will receive a red bib #.

Timing Chips and Live Results:  Once again the entire Shimano cyclocross series will feature live chip timing with real time results and splits.  You'll be able to compare your lap splits to the pro's or fellow competitors!  When you're not racing grab your smart phone and follow the action and see how your friends are finishing!

Free race entry program:  Is the race budget for the season tapped, or hoping to give a few hours back to the sport?  We have 3hr volunteer shifts that earn you a free entry to a CYCLO-X race of your choosing.  Shifts range from set-up the day prior, race day roles, to post event course clean-up roles.  To sign-up please e-mail Lance@withoutlimits.com

Starting procedure: You'll be called up by your USA Cycling ranking in your category.  Multiple categories in the same wave are separated by 30sec - 1 minute (please refer to the chart below for your specific category)

Series point structure changes:  This year the intensity of the series builds every month!  September races (Harlow Platts & Valmont) will feature 1x points, for the next three events in October and November (Interlocken, Boulder Res, & Sienna Lake) the point scale jumps to 1.25x, with it all coming down to the championships on November 18th (Salisbury) featuring 1.5x points.  Your best 4 highest point totals will count towards the final standings.

What happened to the "Bowl of Death"?:  The good news for Louisville residents is they're finally getting a huge upgrade to their rec center after decades of use.  The bad news for 2017 is the peak of the giant construction project kicks off in the middle of race season.  Don't fear though, the City and Rec Center love this event and can't wait to have us back in 2018!

Junior series awards: This season for the first time ever the Shimano Cyclocross Series will feature series standings and awards for all junior categories!  Be sure to stick around after the final event down in Parker on November 18th!
