Dear FLC Cycling Supporter,
With spring brightening the world around us, it’s hard to not dream about crisp, autumn mornings spent pedaling around the mountains in all of their fall glory. Lucky for us, the Durango Fall Blaze Bicycle Tour is just around the corner, and with it, your chance to raise some dollars for the Skyhawks cycling team and kick it with fellow two-wheeled enthusiasts! Plenty of Skyhawk cyclists and local pros will be joining the fun, including current National Champion Payson McElveen (Exercise Science, '16).
Registration Party!
Registration opens on May 5 with a 3-6 p.m. Fall Blaze Registration Party at Carver Brewing in downtown Durango. You'll get an early bird discount ($10 off!) for signing up early while you enjoy free chili, chips, beer, and wine (courtesy of Carver's), listen to live music, and get a chance to score some giveaways and swag. Please join us for a great Cinco de Mayo with your cycling friends, or sign up online whenever you like!
What is the Fall Blaze?On Saturday, September 28, three group rides will take off from the Fort Lewis College campus to the blast of a cannon. Choose from 37, 60, or 100-miles spinning your wheels around Durango’s spectacular roads under blue skies, golden aspens, and craggy peaks. It’s a fully-supported tour, not a race, so feel free to stop and take photos along the way. The added bonus is that you’re supporting the student athletes of our nationally-ranked Skyhawks cycling team. All rides culminate back on campus with cold beer, tasty food, and good times with old and new friends alike.
