My fellow League members,

You're on my mind this week as I so want to thank you for the League's
attention and endorsement of *Senate Bill #160 (Judicial Public Financing)*.
This obviously falls well in line with what we support as an organization,
but it's also a bill that's personal to me and many others. For those of
you who know me, I shared a very personal story

Facebook in a difficult but necessary move to shine light on our court
system in NM. (I encourage you to read it by clicking that link 'personal
story'). Thankfully, the hardship of sharing my story has since received a
ton of attention and I've now collected almost 4,000 signatures on the
petition

I
created, another item I encourage you to read and sign if you haven't
already.

My deepest thanks to all of you who have taken the time to read what I've
written, and continue to extend your support. This is the first bill I've
ever advocated for in person and it was the first time I ever sat in on a
committee meeting. While not everyone was friendly to me in this process,
it was a party line vote and it passed 7-3.
