Burque, get on your marching shoes, as NMWM and Coalition partners join the National call to Rally for Abortion Justice!

We are outraged and condemn the new Texas abortion law, the most restrictive in the land. This law prohibits abortions before many women even know they’re pregnant, and it will be hard to challenge in the courts. The Supreme Court has refused to block it. States all over the country are seeking to imitate this sinister tactic. The burden of these restrictive measures falls inordinately on people of color, on rural folk, poor people, and otherwise marginalized groups. Abortion providers in Texas estimate that 85 percent of patients seeking abortion are at least six weeks pregnant and would be denied care under the new state law. 

People are flooding our state to obtain the care they need. It’s for this reason that New Mexico abortion funds need our support! Funding goes to pay for travel, lodging, food, and other expenses incurred by people seeking abortions here. This has to be central to our mission, as we take a stand for abortion justice. 

We won’t have our rights taken from us. We will not go back!
