Dear Members,

LWVCNM will be conducting our Federal Judiciary local league Consensus
meeting Saturday 4-5-25 from 9:00 – 12:00 and we* need your participation*.
We urge as many members as possible to participate in this valuable
contribution to the Federal Judiciary Position. Positions are the basis for
advocacy – No Position, No Advocacy. LWVUS initiated this study during the
June 2024 Convention to fill a gap in our Positions, the Federal Judiciary.
This Position would allow LWV advocacy in enacting legislation and imposing
judicial constraints to ensure all citizens can expect an equitable
judicial process. The study scope addresses the Supreme Court as well as
the other Article III federal courts.

Recent concerns regarding the independence of this 3rd arm of the
government and decisions issued impacting all Americans heightened LWV
awareness and need for action.

To prepare for the meeting on Saturday please review the following
materials.

LWVCNM conducted an educational meeting 3-22-25 in preparation for the
4-5-25 Consensus meeting which may facilitate member response to the 12
Consensus questions:
