Federal Judiciary Study – LWVCNM March 22, 2025 Educational Meeting
LWVCNM members – the LWVUS Federal Judiciary Study initiated during the June 2024 LWVUS Convention is underway with the LWVCNM Consensus meeting scheduled Saturday, April 5th from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. via Zoom. For those of you interested in participating in this LWVCNM Consensus meeting, we have scheduled a preliminary educational meeting Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to noon via Zoom, to better prepare members for informed participation during the Consensus meeting – this educational meeting will be recorded for those of you with schedule conflicts. The Zoom invitation is at the end of this email.
LWVUS has posted substantial information on the Federal Judiciary Study website below and we recommend that you review as much of this material as your time permits prior to the Consensus meeting. If you prefer to read these documents individually without going to the website, please let me know, and I will email the PDFs to you.

I suggest these items may be the most beneficial to understanding basic principles:
* Key Terms for the Federal Judiciary Study
* Study Guide for Leagues (includes links and explanation of LWV Consensus method)
* 12 Consensus Questions (included within FJS Consensus Form)
Please join us for this March 22, 2025 educational session and learn more about the practices and limitations of the Federal Judiciary. During the April 5, 2025 LWVCNM Consensus meeting, Mary Henrie Smith, JD, will serve as Consensus Meeting Discussion Leader; Karen Wentworth and I will serve as Consensus Recorders; and Mary Mulvaney will serve as Timekeeper (12 Consensus questions require response and each member is encouraged to participate, so limiting response times will be necessary).
For more information, please contact Karen Douglas at douglaskm at alumni.stanford.edu.
LWVCNM is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
