*Freedom to Read Coalition is having a meeting* on Monday, *September 14*,
from 2:30 to 5 pm, to discuss and strategize legislative efforts to protect
public school, public, and academic libraries and those who staff them.

*LWVCNM will be present for a kid-friendly event* at Liv and Mimi’s Play
Cafe the morning of* September 15*. National Voter Registration Day will be
celebrated by making voting plans and spinning a prize wheel.  Regular cost
and play passes apply for the playroom.

*LWVCNM will have a table at Suncat Days *on the CNM main campus on Tuesday
and Wednesday, *September 15 and 16*, from 10 am to 12 noon.

*LWVCNM is participating in a Constitution Day event *at the Albuquerque
Press Club on Thursday, *September 17*, from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. Read about

*How will this year's El Nino affect water in New Mexico? *And will it help
us meet the water requirements of the Rio Grande Compact? The New Mexico
Water Advocates will meet on Zoom on Thursday, *September 17*, from 6:30 to
8pm. Speakers will be NM's climatologists David DuBois, Phil King, and Norm

*LWVCNM will give presentations* at the NexGen Academy on Thursday and
Friday, *September 17 and 18**.*

*On* *Saturday, **September 19**, LWVCNM will have **three** events:* A
Table at the Enchantment Games in Rotary Park, Bernalillo from 10 am to 2
pm, a presentation at Tony Hillerman Library at 11:30, and a table for a
UNMH Diabetes Fair at Westgate Community Center from 9:15 tam to 1 pm.

*LWVCNM will have a table at the Albuquerque Railyard Market* on
Sunday, *September
20 *from 8 am to 2 pm.

*The next Book Club gathering* is on Wednesday, *September 23*, at 5:30 in
the conference room.

*LWVCNM will have a table at the Rio Grande High School Career Fair *on
Thursday, *September 24*.

*LWVCNM will give a short workshop* on helping students to fill out voter
registration forms on Thursday*,** September 24*, at Digital Arts &
Technology Academy. Then on Wednesday, *September 30*, LWVCNM will oversee
students organizing voter registration events in classrooms.

*LWVCNM will give presentations* at La Cueva High School on Monday, *September
28**.*

*LWVCNM will have a table at UNM *in front of Zimmerman Library on
Tuesday, *September
29*, at 1 pm.

*The New Mexico Commission on the Status of Women’s free annual Women’s
Summit *is *September 26* 8 – 5 at Isleta Resort and Casino. This year, the
focus is on the economic security of women in New Mexico. The summit will
bring together women from all corners of New Mexico for meaningful
conversations, networking and community connections, and impactful speakers
and panels on some of the most pressing economic security issues facing
women in our state. Register HERE

*Common Cause is offering Election Protection Training* a nonpartisan
effort to help voters understand their rights, identify and report barriers
to voting, and connect voters with accurate information and assistance.
Participants will learn more about how they can support voters before and
during elections. No prior experience is required, and training and support
will be provided. Register for either training by completing the Election

*Senator Heinrich’s Albuquerque office has moved*. The new address is 201 3
