Hi Neighbors-

Someone posted the name of a good painter a while ago. I have looked in my e-mails,

(and even deleted ones) trying to find the name of the gentleman that was recommended, now that I need a painter, myself.  Could you send another e-mail with his name?

Thanks so much!

A suggestion to all?

I'm not saying people "should" do this -- I do it because I love having  a bank of info and our list provides much.

For those who like to create email folders, it can be a great way to store info.

I have one called 'neighborhood', and another inside it called "services per NHNA folks".

Just a thought ~ that way you'd have all the info shared over time.

Smiles,
Karen

The policy of APD on vehicle accidents is that, if there are no injuries they instruct the victims/perpetrators to exchange personal, vehicle and insurance information and visit a sub station to file an accident report. If there are injuries then the police will show up otherwise, it gets pushed to the bottom of their priority list and it can be up to 6 hours before a policeman arrives at the scene. This is directly from a group of policemen that i visited with recently. I asked them directly because my wife was recently in a car accident and no police showed up to take a report. They indicated that APD being short on officers and more relevant/urgent crime/activities going on that it could be that no-one will show up at all.I'm surprised that whoever called the police did not receive this information from the dispatcher. I was un-aware of this until my wife's recent accident and my conversation with the group of policemen.Anyway, the situation is certainly not ideal but it i!
s what we have to deal with for the time being.?Thank you,

I was hit and run by some guys in a stolen car last year. I got the plate, that's how the police knew it was stolen. I went to the station where an officer gave me a report number. I called my insurance company, got an estimate on the repairs and it was fixed by the following week. I was out my deductible. I guess that's why we pay uninsured motorist insurance. My insurance company paid for the repairs. My insurance company was never able to obtain a copy of the report.

Hi Jack
If your insurance UM/UI (Uninsured/Underinsured) is used, it should also
cover your deductible.  In New Mexico you have 3 years from the date of the
accident to settle the claim.  Any injury treatment is also covered.  You
may have a larger recovery due you than you are aware of.  I'm not an
attorney, of course, and I'd suggest that you consider speaking with a law
firm that specializes in these type of cases.  I can recommend several.

Jack,
Karla is right.  I was broadsided on Central at Richmond by a hit and run driver and I went to lawyer Dave Plotsky, 268-0095 (at corner of Silver and Girard) and he knows how to do these kind of cases? he got me a really good settlement from the UM/UI program.  Go talk to him.

Hi Jack
If your insurance UM/UI (Uninsured/Underinsured) is used, it should also cover your deductible.  In New Mexico you have 3 years from the date of the accident to settle the claim.  Any injury treatment is also covered.  You may have a larger recovery due you than you are aware of.  I'm not an attorney, of course, and I'd suggest that you consider speaking with a law firm that specializes in these type of cases.  I can recommend several.

They indicated that APD being short on officers and more relevant/urgent crime/activities going on that it could be that no-one will show up at all.
I'm surprised that whoever called the police did not receive this information from the dispatcher. I was un-aware of this until my wife's recent accident and my conversation with the group of policemen.
Anyway, the situation is certainly not ideal but it is what we have to deal with for the time being.

Pat,

Good luck.  There are a lot of trees missing along Lead/Coal from autos knocking them down.  There are about 5 missing over at Lead and Richmond that have never been replaced too.  That is a disastrous corner.  There are trees missing all over.

My 92 yr old ?mom? almost got killed at Richmond and Lead from a car sticking out into Lead which she hit.  The line of sight is blocked on Richmond by the telephone company switch boxes.  The city engineers says it is fine.  They are blind to reality.

The cross streets, the north/south streets and Lead and Coal were never designed for how the traffic flow now, and will be much worse with the traffic from Central over here.  The views and intersections are just not designed right, this is all an after thought.  That is why many of us oppose ART as it is now, it will put more traffic on these dangerous intersections.

Plus, I can?t get DMD to remove the three  trees the contractors wrongly put on solar side (sotuh) of my house.  Nor can I get them to remove the street light post the contractors put right in the path way of my auto driveway's third spot, which was not suppose to go there in the planning phase.

Thanks,
Bob

There was a hit& run accident this afternoon at the intersection of Carlisle& Coal, evidently, the truck that  was involved, allegedly was stolen, The guys in the truck fled, Three people called 911and I called 242-cops.Th<http://242-cops.Th <http://242-cops.th/>>e cops never showed up, After 35minutes, the woman that was hit got tied of waiting and left.I think it is sad that there wasn't any response,

Neighbors,

I've been overtaken by events so I will not be able to host the crime
prevention and safety meeting this month. Unless someone else wants to
do it tomorrow night, I'm for skipping this month and reconvening May 31
at the old time, 6:00 pm.

Dave Dixon
