[Neighbors] Accident

Hi Flora,
The grass at that location might have been a problem, it is possible - did not see it, for some but to remove all the grasses that were in no way causing a line of sight problem is like destroying the village to save it. In my area there was no possibility of the grasses pulled up being a problem (they were in the other direction for traffic flow) but there are a number of walls on the corners (one right across from me that I have reported) that are absolutely causing accidents but nothing is done about them. Richmond at Coal and Lead has line of sight problems on both ends for instance and we have crashes all the time around here from this problem the city does nothing about. One one hand this is an old legacy area but with the increased traffic flows it is becoming a bigger issue.

At the northeast corner of Lead & Solano, the plants were a little too tall and were blocking the driver's view. I don't take this route very often because of the speeding vehicles but my neighbors do and they say it is dangerous. They have reported the issue to the city.
Bob, I believe the Lead/Coal issue will be discussed at the next Nob Hill Board Meeting. Adrian will be emailing the drafted letter to the other Directors for their input.

Hi Pat,
Thanks for the note. I saw it but my point is SWD should have worked with the neighborhood before starting this (what is SWD?). We see this as our neighborhood, not a street/traffic issue. For example, in my sector the vegetation (the grass) they removed was healthy and gave us a nice aesthetic look. I heard no complaints from any of my neighbors. But it is all gone now (while still the wrong trees are here on my solar south side that were put in during the Lead/Coal rebuild - along with the street light pole they put in my drive way access area). So, my experience with all this city work has been negative and we find out after the fact when the damage is done. So SWM’s explanation is a bit late, imo, whatever it is they are saying.
I noticed across from my corner at Coal another neighborhood had to rebuild their wall (as I did a few months ago) due to auto crash vehicles spinning out of control from the traffic at these dangerous north/south intersections. The blind line of sight problems were what needed improvement in the Lead/Coal rebuild. Lead and Coal through our areas is rapidly become like a pair of canyons with everyone putting in walls to try to keep the noise (and vehicles) out of their houses.
Thanks for all your help on the other issues...
Bob

Bob, I wanted to be sure you saw the email back from SWD explaining the landscaping program.
Contrary to some concerns voiced on Nextdoor, the landscaping isn't being removed for good. Old and dying landscaping, including some unhealthy trees, maybe removed along Lead/Coal during the winter.
The SWD staff explained that they are working on the ongoing maintenance and will replace them with new items soon:
The trees will be replaced in the spring if they were not done this year. The vendor is working to make the area safe and aesthetic by cutting the stumps off and removing the tape.
We have received authorization to move forward with shrub replacement on 4 sections of Coal which should start within the next few weeks.

The city sees this as just a couple streets for vehicles and we see it as our neighborhood, that is where the conflict of percepions exists.

Not sure what exactly happened, I don't want to make accusations but the person that was taken away in the ambulance looked like he was under
the influence, I am meeting with the guy that is in charge of this replanting project tomorrow, They removed plants from my side of the property.

Thomas,
I just passed by there and it looked like three vehicles crashed into each. Did someone run a stop sign on the N/S again?
