Thinking about this more we need some larger traffic solutions.  One would be to get the city to work a deal with Kirtland AFB to continue Gibson through from Wyoming to Eubank and Juan Tabo out to I-40.  This is one of the best streets we have but it dead ends at Wyoming.  Gibson needs to be continued West too and come back onto I-40.  That could carry some of the traffic that once used Central to cross town.

The north/south streets in the area from Yale to Washington need to be checker boarded dead end streets at Coal and Lead to stop the bleed of traffic through the neighborhoods from Central.  Then we could work on Lead/Coal with good rumble strips to slow the traffic and make it not seem like a drive in the park for hot rodders.
The new APD camera system tapping into private sector cams is interesting but the city has its own cams that it appears re not to be using which would be more effective.  Why did the news services not include this in their recent stories?  They need to look at a story about all this mis-match of technologies and polices.  The real crime center does not seem to work.

I also saw this on the KOB news report.  This is not the first brawl that has spilled out of Imbibe and onto Central.  Although I am sure the "quality" of customers is a major part of this problem, I also wonder about the servers limiting the number of drinks served to their customers.  I think everyone is lucky that no one pulled a gun and started shooting into the group.  Beginning to sound and look like the problems Nob Hill had a few years ago with the Club between Morningside and Washington.

The concern is heightened as students make their way back to the University of New Mexico campus for a new year.As seen in the cell phone video, the fight spilled out of the lounge and picked up size and speed. It seemed to focus on one man surrounded by and beaten by an increasingly energized crowd. As onlookers screamed, others seemed to encourage the beating. Some even chanted for more.
