Hope you are able to keep an eye on that truck cruising the alley. Criminals are getting more open and bolder now. Likely the mayor’s new policy on not arresting criminals is sending a signal that it is open season on victims. This situation is going to lead to horrible outcomes where others like us have to become more vigilante like in protecting ourselves, I fear. This cruising and walking the streets is the kind of activity that we see over here too when things turn up missing. I see it all the time here along Coal. Someone walked up like this and took an expensive long aluminum ladder I had beside my house one day I was out. Last night I was awoken about 3 am by cars racing at what sounded like 100 mph on Coal through the red lights and intersections.
Our city councilman was suppose to be getting back to the neighborhood association with a report or information on all the security cameras the city has at most intersections to help with these things. You would think all these cameras they would be able to help solve some of the crimes and stop the speeding. This request for more information on these cams came up when my neighbor’s truck was stolen out of his driveway and there is a cam on the corner looking at his house which should have been useful but the policeman who took the report did not check the cam recordings - and we were told the recordings are destroyed every 24 hrs anyway.
I think it would be helpful if we homeowners could have computer monitoring access to the cameras in our particular areas so we could be more watchful and maybe even record the scenes ourselves. Technically it is possible and it might help provide some protection that we are not getting otherwise. Also, it would help if the city would make available a way for us to run tag numbers of vehicles we see cruising like this. It is likely that tag on the truck does belong to that truck. Little things like this could help us be more secure.
Sincerely,
Bob Anderson

It seems, they spent a lot of time in our backyard trying different ways to get into the kitchen and ultimately threw a rock through a window. They took our Mac laptop as well as our external hard-drive (sigh), all of our jewelry, a Gary Fischer bike, and sport memorabilia.
