[Neighbors] Speed control on neighborhood streets

If it is that big a deal why not just have speed humps on streets like Marquette next to Washington.  It works very effectively in Santa Fe, NM on Sunset/Oterra next to Artist Road/Hyde Park Road that heads up to the Santa Fe, NM ski basin.  That will certainly slow everyone down.

I thought neighbors might enjoy this. Gary

  Canadian Speed Control!

Speed control being used in Canada.
How's this for effective speed control?

I don't know about you, but
this would certainly slow me down!
People slow down and actually
try to "straddle" the hole.

This is an actual speed control
device that is currently in use.
It is MUCH cheaper than speed bumps,
cameras, radar guns, police officers, etc.

Pretty clever -- especially when they move them around every day.

Isn't Art Wonderful?

Thanks Gary,
Humor and every little bit of effort does help.
One thing that both amuses and frustrates me, regarding the traffic lights between I-25 eastward (being a Nob Hillian) is the lack of sychronization.
Seriously! Having travel outside of the US quite a bit, whenever driving a lengthy boulevard one can see the progression of traffic lights in synchronized changing, no problem.
Traffic moves at a constant speed with the synchronicity.
So, my first thought is that our brilliant traffic engineers need to apply their brilliance and get our lights synched.
Second, I propose an increase in the number of lights, controlling more intersections and reducing the intervals in which speedsters have less space to accelerate.
Cheers,
Sam
