Hi Neighbors,
I am working on some Vision Zero activities this weekend if anyone wants to join me. New Mexico has the highest pedestrian fatality rate in the country, and many of those are in Albuquerque. We are also high for bicyclist and motorcyclist fatalities.

I am thinking about walking around Sunday and taking some pictures and maybe doing some of the following activities:

Walking Audits
Description:
Sidewalk/crosswalk/path condition
Lighting
Compile data about the condition of facilities and report to the City (or PNM in the case of lighting) using 311 app, as well as emailing the full data
Do some clean up
Do some chalk decorations

Adopt an Intersection
Description:
Make banners and flags and cross at one or multiple crosswalks to draw attention to people crossing
Clean up around the intersection
Consider using chalk/paint or other decorations to make the intersection more attractive

Letter Writing Campaign
Description
Mail letters about VZ to Mayor, City Council, County Commission
Consider doing postcards with a short pre-printed message and room to add your own ideas
Could have kids (and adults) do drawings or color an image printed on the front

Let me know if you are interested!
