*Avoid Overwatering this Drought Season*

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority (ABCWUA)
encourages everyone to conserve water during this severe drought season.
Below are some tips to keep from wasting water in your yard:

· Check your sprinkler system monthly and repair leaks ASAP

· Don’t waste water by allowing your system to leak onto streets,
driveways and sidewalks

· Water in the early morning or later in the evening when
temperatures are cooler, and irrigate only when your plants need it

· If possible, add compost to your soil to increase moisture
absorption and retention

· Choose plants, flowers and trees that require little water and
that are native to our desert region

· Try to group plants with similar water needs together, to avoid
wasting water

*Pet Safety in the Heat*

Don’t forget that our furry friends feel the heat as much as we do! If the
pavement is too hot for you in your bare feet, it’s too hot for their paws
and they’ll get burned. Make sure they have lots of water, shade if they’re
outdoors, and please consider bringing them indoors in the hottest hours of
the daytime. To learn more about caring for pets, visit: www.cabq.gov/pets

*Guided Nature Walk at Open Space Visitor Center This Sunday*

Want to start off your Sunday morning enjoying nature? Join in the Bosque

free and open to the public, but space is limited, and please leave your
pets at home. Call (505) 897-8831 to sign up!
